Rolf has over 35 years experience as an oil and gas and investment banking professional. For the last 17 years Rolf has worked in senior roles in Acquisitions and Divestments for several London-based investment banks and oil and gas advisory firms, including Argentil Capital Partners (UK) Limited, FirstEnergy Capital LLP and Tristone Capital Limited.

Prior to his advisory career, Rolf spent 20 years as a geoscientist, senior commercial advisor and A&D specialist for Shell, principally located in the Middle East and Europe. During his career he has originated and executed multiple oil and gas transactions, in jurisdictions geographically spanning the globe.

Rolf holds a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands and a Master of Arts degree in Classical Studies from The Open University, United Kingdom.

Rolf is a Fellow of the Geological Society and is a member of the Geoscience Energy Society of Great Britain (GESGB). He is also a member of the European Petroleum Negotiators Group (EPNG).

Rolf was previously Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Operation Eyesight Universal (UK), a Canadian charity aiming to eliminate avoidable blindness; He was previously also a Non–Executive Director and Board Member of Richmond Fellowship Employment & Training, now the Richmond Fellowship, a large national mental health charity.
